Just Got Back From Training Seminars In Dallas And Las Vegas

By Thomas Cook • November 3rd, 2008

Sally and I have embrased ongoing training since 1993 as a way to improve the service level we provide to our buyer and seller clients. It’s also been an important way to keep on top of changes in technology which benefit our clients in their search for a perfect home or when they’re selling a house or condominium.

Toronto Real Estate - By Referral Only and CKG International - Training SeminarsThe Dallas, TX seminar was put on by CKG International based in Ottawa, ON. They coach agents in Canada and the USA who typically help over 150 home buyers and sellers annually. We listened to John Tuccilo, an economist, who give us some terrific insights into where the real estate market is heading in the USA and indirectly in Canada.

We heard from a Realtor from Oregon who gave us some insights into how he helps homeowners whose mortgage is larger than the present value of their home. We were also given a presentation by a systems specialist, Eden Sunshine from, appropriately enough, Phoenix, AZ who talked about ways for us to improve our Team systems in order to improve the consistency of our client service.

In Las Vegas, Joe Stumpf from By Referral Only University in San Diego, CA put on a two-day seminar focusing on how to provide such excellent service to our buyers and sellers that they can’t help but refer us to their friends and family.

Often friends kid me about spending a week in the balmy weather… it must be relaxing! Although I was in warm climates in both cities, it’s typically very busy every single day. I saw only about 35 minutes of sunshine by the pool in Las Vegas and I power napped during that time. Seminar classes, or breakfast meetings, started around 8 am and went through till 5 pm for almost five full days… it was work!!
