Young Canadians Need More Financial Information About Home Buying
The Canadian Real Estate Association recently commissioned a poll by Nanos Research, where 63 per cent of Canadians described a need for more information about the financial details when buying a home. But when asking home buyers younger, ages 18 to 29, the percentage of those who felt a major need for more information about the financial aspects of buying a home increased to 70 per cent.
The Canadian Real Estate Association recently launched the Homebuyers’ Road Map, an interactive tool filled with financial calculators, information about mortgage options and closing and related costs in partnership with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada.
“As Realtors, we appreciate that young Canadians and first-time homebuyers are craving more information about the financial details required to buy a home,” said the CEO of the Canadian Real Estate Association, Gary Simonsen. “The purpose of the Homebuyers’ Road Map is to empower consumers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make responsible financial decisions about one of the largest purchases they will ever make. We’re proud to have collaborated with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada to develop this guide.”
The Homebuyers’ Road Map is a great tool for preliminary home buying research, and it can be found here.
