Big Impact For Little Bucks

Often when our clients find the home of their dreams, it isn’t quite perfect.  We often hear our buyers saying "We’ll redo the hardwood floors" or "Maybe later we’ll change out the kitchen cabinets".  That’s normal and to be expected – rarely is a home absolutely perfect.

Often times though, reality comes in and the expense of doing a repair or renovation is more than the budget can afford.  Remodeling budgets are scaled back after bidding wars and unforeseen expenses gobble up funds that were originally earmarked for the "fun stuff," such as decor, and kitchen and bathroom renos.  Sometimes however there are ways of having your cake and eating it too!

You can however create a great kitchen via "off the rack" materials even if you used up all your savings to buy your house.

In a housing market where prices remain high, design savvy buyers are trying to "get the look for less." Keeping a balance the "high/low" budget yet achieving winning results can be a challenge.  At the same time, you don’t want to drive yourself into more debt.

Here’s how you can create a dramatic, modern kitchen on a limited budget.  One designer says she has a long held belief that you must save throughout the process in order to be able to splurge at the end. If you are frugal and practical at the outset, you are far less likely to end up overextended, with the redesign incomplete.  Let’s look at some of the options.
