What Do You Do If You’re Appointed As Trustee Of An Estate?

About four months ago a lady (we’ll call her Anita) contacted me asking my opinion of the value of her aunt’s home.  Her Aunt had been in the home for many years and had just passed away and Anita had been appointed Executor of the estate.

Anita had already contacted a lawyer who had done some work for her Aunt and asked that lawyer to do what was needed so the property could be sold.  It took Anita about three months to get the home ready for sale.  This didn’t involve any physical repairs/improvements to the home (although many were needed), but simply going through her Aunt’s belongings, sorting them out and disposing of the accumulation of 40 years of belongings.
